Goya Torres doing llive-painting for the CK Market Lane Project in Manly the 6th and 7th of September 2014.
My piece "El Viaje" (The Journey) reflects the surf culture and local lifestyle with a visual mexican influence. After living in the Northern Beaches for 4 years, this piece has a very personal meaning of my journey in Australia.
About the project:
Each month in 2014 a new artist will paint a unique, original artwork on two large, removable panels on the wall of Painters' Gallery & The Manly Hubb at 44 Market Lane in Manly. The artworks have different subjects, themes and styles but each one aims to improve the urban spaces in Manly and help to start a dialogue between the artists and members the public. Each artwork will remain on the wall for a full month and will be available to purchase during that time.We have some of the BEST contemporary artists in and around Sydney taking part so we encourage everyone to come down on the last weekend of each month to witness a new masterpiece being created - The artist with the most positive response at the end of their month will receive the “People’s Choice” award during a special exhibition at Painters’ Gallery at the end of the Project.http://themanlyhub.com/market-lane-art-project/
